In this workshop I will introduce you to a contemporary adaptation of an old painting technique. We will use flat glass tiles to learn the process of reverse painting where we are painting on one side of the glass as it will be viewed from the opposite side.
The stacking cubes will provide a fun, strong substrate for our project. Using stamping and drawing techniques you will work on the composition to be painted. Then we will take acrylic paints to begin the basic understanding of reverse painting on glass. There will be techniques explained for composing images to be painted. Each technique will utilize one individual cube.
At the end of the workshop you will have completed a beautiful art piece and will feel comfortable continuing this exciting art process. This is a wonderful medium on it’s own but can add another element to any mixed media project. This introductory workshop focuses on the basic processes and techniques that can be applied to other reverse painting projects; the sky is the limit!
